My Neighbor Totoro. The girls are so much like my own daughters. I found his movies through my 14 year old daughter and have seen every one we have found.

Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies.
Totoro, because it's such a heartwarming story and beautifully drawn. A true gem, for all ages. My wife has a whole collection of Totoros...

And Fireflies, also beautiful, but very emotional. I've watched it twice, and believe me, you'll need a big box of tissues. The end will break your heart...

          Hmmmm....

Nausicaa first, although Castle of Cagliostro is a close second. The rest of them are kinda too Disney for me.

I don't think Grave of the Fireflies is Studio Ghibli. Tho it is an awesome movie. Grave and another animated film called When the Wind Blows are two of my all time rip your heart out animated features. Highly recommended to look up if you have not seen it.

I would have to put My Neighbor Totoro at the top of my list. We have an undubbed copy of that on disc and my kids have watched it more times than I can count. The enjoy it every time, and so do I.
A couple of summers ago, a local theater that does a Saturday morning kid matinee sort of thing showed Totoro with English dubs. We went to see that one and after we came out my daughter was glowing. "I could understand what they were saying, papa!!!" It was really cool.

Spirited Away is on my top list as well. I guess I just like dust spirits. I must as they are all over my house.

Have all his films that were available on Japanese LD and now DVD...my personal favorites that I have seen many times over are:

              1. The Castle of Cagliostro
              2. My Neighbor Totoro
              3. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Though 'Grave of the Fireflies' is one of my all-time favorite Japanese Anime, it is not a Hayao Miyazaki Film...I believe his studio (Studio Ghibli) though was responsible for it's release.

Fireflies is Ghibli, but true, it's directed by Takahata. I have the Studio Ghibli boxed set, and it's fantastic.
Totoro is the kind of movie you don't even need to understand the words to.

Grave of the Fireflies was so sad I can't watch it again.

I really like the first half or so of Mononoke, but after that it kinda gets too weird for me. My favourite Miyazaki films are probably Totoro and Spirited Away.

Currently there s a studio ghibli film festival on at the bell lightbox, and it's killing me that they are not selling the poster featuring totoro.

Oh I forgot about Castle of Cagliostro, which is so fabulous.

I actually love almost all of his films, but would say Howl's Moving Castle is my least favorite.

I have friends who have visited the Studio Ghibli Museum in Japan. Would love to go there one day.

Mononoke was awesome!! the boar/spirit that goes rogue and has all the worms and tentacles writhing around it was crazy.
This guy always did sort of creep me out tho. I am sure I will have odd dreams tonight after looking for this image.

It's a tossup between two for me. I would say Nausicaa first, but Howl's Moving Castle is very personal to me, for ....er.. personal reasons. Third is Princess Mononoke.
I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen Grave of Fireflies yet. ASHAMED!!
