Full scale Enterprise that was never built! Big Pics!

A friend of mine showed me this. Before they approved The Star Trek Experience for downtown Las Vegas, a real scale Starship Enterprise was in the works to be built. I don't know how they would have done this but I think this was a missed opportunity. The CEO of Paramount nixed it, even tho everyone else thought it was a great idea.

That would have been amazing and one of the coolest things ever. I now know what i'm going to do if i ever win powerball. I will build a replica Millennium Falcon and turn it into a house.

Sure, the geek in me thinks the coolest thing ever. But the pragmatist in me wonders if the Paramount CEO wasn't right. The Star Trek Experience ended up folding after a few years, and that was a much more modest project. I'd like to think this would have renewed excitement in Trek, but this thing could have just as easily destroyed the Star Trek brand... reducing it to another once great act, now a washed up joke in Vegas.
