    I overpaid because
    a) I'm an impatient little monkey
    b) My town sucks for selection, I had to pay "Mall Record Store" prices

I think I got the only copy within a 40 minute drive....

I went to three stores and couldn't find it. I first went to Target, then Fryes electronics and finally out of desperation Best Buy. I'm still trying to hunt down a copy. Hopefully by this weekend I can get one.

        Hmmmm....

I haven't seen this one since I was a kid. I used to absolutely love it.... but I went in with as little expectation as possible. Having watched a few I gotta say it's a decent show. It suffers from a lot of the usual 70's sci-fi tv problems, but there's enough weird to compensate. It's done on the cheap, but doesn't feel like it. (So much.... this WAS the 70's.) And yeah; the disks are kinda functional.... they feel like bootlegs. It looks good too, but there's some (barely noticable) interference, like they were made off studio video tape and not original prints. I wonder if there's a good story to that.

One unexpected side bonus is that my kid really digs it and has asked to watch more.

Just from reading the news on TVShowsOnDVD.com, you can see that the days of most studios putting a lot of time and effort into DVD releases is drying up. Seems lime more and more are going to made-to-order press runs, and that means not putting much effort into the production of the discs. This is probably spreading into the few actually making it into the stores too. That's just my guess. Also accounts for the lack of extras, although WB put absolutely NO extras on The Flash complete series collection several years back during the Golden Age of TV series on DVD releases.

                I think it'd be under $30.

I did know the Flash the complete TV Series 1990 CBS did not come with any extras? how many discs was it ?and its true I noticed that too The studios are putting no effort whatsoever on putting out the older shows on DVD with any supplemental extras only Blu Ray sets I noticed

                            >Rem is no Data thats for sure

After watching them now I like Rem better. Unlike most sci-fi androids he doesn't want to be a real boy, and he shows a lot of savvy. Not only is he smart technical-wise, but he's really good at coming up with useful solutions. ("I'm programmed not to harm humans, but the gun isn't" was a great bit!)

Could not agree more, I also think Moffat is the superior actor as well. There are also times when he seems fed up with humans.

I've only watched the pilot episode so far, but the quality of the transfer looks good. Infinitely better than my bootleg copy.

Rem was a great addition...but he would have been even cooler with a mechanical claw like the Mego figure.
