    The "extra" episode on the DVD was funny.

      I love those versions of the Cybermen even tho their costumes appear to be silver Hefty Bags. It's the helmet that makes them great.

        One of my favorite Cybermen versions as well and that "special" was very funny on the DVD.

              I'd really like that bust. I have he talking figure with gun, (and the Tom Baker one in same scale). I felt the Cybermen in The Invasion and Revenge of the Cybermen were good but the Cybermen from Earthshock seemed to be up to date and well detailed for the 1980's program.

                I'm totally "meh" with this design, never totally gelled with me. David Banks was always a bit too emotional for Cyber Leader. Though this makes me laugh:

                  For me, the biggest problem I have with this design is they look too skinny. I never really noticed this until I got used to the new series Cybermen who appear much more meatier.

                  My niece is a big fan of the new series... She once commented, "the 80's Cybermen look like a girl could beat them up"

                    If you listen to the commentary on the Five Doctors, Terrance Dicks really hated the JNT Cybermen and kind of lashes out on Eric Saward's insistance they be in the special.

                    While they're getting trashed by the Rassilon robot he keeps saying stuff like "Oh aren't they tough?". It's pretty obvious he wrote that scene for a reason.

                      I never heared the commentary yet but yea, they were pretty much throw-away baddies in the Five Doctors ... But, I think the Daleks (Dalek) faired even worse.

                      The worst prob with JNT's Cybermen was they were way too emotional -- BUT, this has been going on at least since Revenge --- Maybe even as far back as The Invasion.

                      It seems "Tomb" was around the last time Cybermen actually acted like Cybermen.

                        Still my favorite Davison episode.. LOVE having the 9" 'Talking Cyberman' next to my Denys Tom Baker. Not much articulation, but it's still a beaut...

                        Not a big fan of Tegan, but loved watching her backside in that tight commando uniform walking up the steps..

                        {..sorry....}

                        Great DVD, SUPER-FUNNY commentary, awesome extras....
                        Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.
