The original unproduced script by Norman Spinrad for "He Walked Among Us" for the original Star Trek series in 1967 and disappeared for 45 years! Commissioned by Gene Roddenberry as a vehicle for Milton Berle as a serious actor, this original version was rewritten into an unfunny comedy by the line producer Gene Cook that was so bad that Spinrad complained to Roddenberry, asking him not to have it shot, and Roddenberry agreed.
