    Whats wrong with Star Wars..

Found this site tonight by accident and found myself watching all of the Phantom Menace and the Indiana Jones reviews. These reviews are long and detailed but 100% accurate when it comes to whats wrong with these films and once you get past this guys intentionally ridiculous drawl, they're quite funny.

There is NOTHING wrong with the original STAR WARS as it was originally released. It was a good, classic sci-fi, fantasy, pulpy, good vs. evil space drama. EMPIRE ratcheted it up a couple of notches into great sci-fi. The franchise fell with ROTJ and only disintegrated more with the three prequels, plus the fact the Lucas just has to keep screwing around with them!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I think the problem is it just so inconsistent in quality between films. The problems in the stories only add to it. They WILL be remade someday lets see if the story issues are worked out. (The originals are the best for sure)

To me there will only be ONE Star Wars. The original. Then you have Empire as the best sequel. After that, it's a mindless toy commercial. the prequels connect with the original trilogy as well as the Halloween films do in that franchise. It's just mindless story telling buried in neat designs to make fans go out and buy product.

I love the original trilogy. Hate the prequels. But seriously if you have an hour to watch something, check this review out. It's really dead on.

                This topic seems universal:

The original Trilogy is what I consider to be the real Star Wars. The other movies are feel very bootlegish LOL.

Overexposure and Lucas constantly tweaking the genre and canon trying to make it more family friendly. Thus making it more marketable.

Yep, it's that time of the year again.
It's "we hate the prequels" time!

This debate should have its own section...

                      .
                      .

If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Did you guys read recently where Lucas got all ****y. He blamed all the people who gave him hell for tweaking the originals and flat out making the last 3 he did. He came off as a whinny punk saying it was our fault that he wasn't making any more movies. I say fine by me. Seriously George, just stop messing with the originals please. As far as us fans and critics go, just stuff some of your billions in your ears so you don't hear us.

Yesterday I was reading Cracked (as I do on a daily basis) and they actually referenced these reviews in one of their articles. They're called the Plinkett reviews. Here's what they had to say....

"All the good ranters provide much more than just shouting "I DON'T LIKE IT" really loudly. A good ranter makes accurate, insightful observations the average person would have missed, like in the Plinkett Star Wars prequel reviews. Millions of people can (and do) whine about how the acting was wooden and how Jar Jar was awful, but only the Plinkett guys could point out specifics about how the movies didn't have a protagonist or that there was way too much dialogue about a trade dispute. Plinkett also offered his viewers pizza rolls. That's called being considerate.
People didn't put a whole hour of time into watching their Episode 1 review just because Plinkett dared to insult Star Wars, but because they did it really well and pointed out things we never thought of or couldn't put into words. The average Phantom Menace-despising person has no reason to pat themselves on the back for making comments as incisive as "That line about sand was very bad!"

Has anybody taken the time to watch one of these reviews on the link? It's well worth it. The TNG movie reviews are equally funny too!

I've watched all Plinkett reviews. They are INSANELY good. The "storyline" he has gets a little old, but they are funny, insightful and IMO incredibly accurate. His opinions and criticisms are incredibly well thought out and thorough.
