Sophia Myles Tipped as New Dr Who Companion

Reported in the newspaper the other day,Sophia Myles aka Madame De Pompadour from The Girl in the Fireplace episode,has been tipped to play Dr Who's new companion,Moffat tweeted "Right everyone who follows me,go and follow @Sophia Myles-spin that fireplace" then he went on to say he would explain later or not.

Whether or not she will be the new companion,we will have to wait and see.

Oh and don't shoot the messenger.

The Doctor NOT have a hot female companion? Then it really wouldn't be Dr. Who, would it...? Mind you, I don't mind that he has Rory along with Amy, but just a male companion to The Doctor would seem----weird. Now maybe if he ever regenerates as a woman, I could see a male companion, but that's probably just my heterosexual bias coming out....!

The Doctor hasn't traveled with just a male companion since Steven in the Massacre story. There has to be a Girl there, but i do feel a Good companion like Jaime is a plus and Rory is thge closest we've come to that. Yes. Capt Jack was good too but more short lived.

I liked Rory more than Amy.
It's not that I have anything against hot girls, but I just like some variation in companions. Just exchanging a redhead for a blonde is not enough for me.
I see no reason why it has to be a girl.
Or how about, shock horror, an older woman? Maybe as old as...say 40??!! That's like ancient...
