They won't say more except that both companions will "come to a heartbreaking end".

I was just thinking the other night that as much as I like the characters of Rory and Amy, they've run their course dramatically.

Why not let them settle down, have a bunch of kids and watch Eastenders.

For some reason this has me thinking about Elisabeth Sladen. I've kind of had my share of death, both in real life and in fiction.
I need some optimism to keep me going!

I'm sure whoever the new female companion is they'll just have her record a voice-over prologue for the pre-beginnning titles too. I'll miss Amy tho. She is damn hot! Hopefully River gets to appear more and perhaps becomes a Romana-like companion.

I don't know why they couldn't have left things the way they were. They had already given them a nice little send off in Season 6. But no,they had to bring them back at the end.

All companions must leave the nest...The Doctor helps them realize who they are and what they want overall..When that time comes, they leave(unless fans HATE)..It's time for Rory and Amy to leave...They've run their course in the TARDIS...Rory's died how many times now?? The REAL Amy got hosed...it's time people....Even Jamie left the Doctor..... PS--Yes, Amy IS hot....so was Romana,Peri,Rose,Mel,Leela,etc. etc....She can be replaced..

We lost Doc Who 2 years ago. He went from Sci-fi CHannel to BBC on demand to Gone.
I didnt see anything in the latest Dr. to peak my interest. Amy on the other hand was nice eye candy. I even thought Rory's Charactor was more original to Dr. Who than the latest Doctor.
The last episode I saw was The Doctor was trapped in an obiliske or something and Rory was re-created as a cyberman for some reason. (Its been a while.)
