Let's not talk about a next Doctor. How about keeping an actor on when he's just getting the hang of it?

I must admit, I never liked Amy Pond much, but I'll kind of miss Rory...

I like Amy, and Rory as well. But I would like to see it go back to the Doctor being the show focus, and the companion being the extra. Amy has usurped the lead position to the extent that many times I feel the Doctor is only reacting to whatever she needs done.
Hopefully when the Ponds go, River will go as well, I think that storyline has run it's course too.
I'd like to see an alien companion. Or a "traitorous" companion of the Turlough camp.

I'd like to see the show go back to being a mystery detective show with a sci-fi background ... This was the Classic Series.

Most people seem to forget that's basically what it was and why we all loved it.

Today, it's just a crappy kid's show that would be better suited playing on Nickelodeon

          In your opinion.

I like the direction the show is taking but I hate the implications here, just because you don't like it doesn't mean those who do are somewhat less "sophisiticated" than you or have somehow "lost their way" as fans.

          It's a preference, nothing more.

Bad news Mikey, it allways was a kids show. The fact adults like it is just a bonus.

I agree that it was, and still is, a show aimed at a younger audience. We adults just go along for the ride. But there were times, like in the Tennant years (and in Classic Who), when the ratio for kids/for adults was more evenly balanced.
These last few years, with still younger actors filling the roles, and even more running/explosions/franctic excitement, I feel it is, IMO, leaning a bit too much toward that young audience. Add to that some sloppy writing (hastily covered up with more running and explosions), and adults might feel yet more alienated.
Then again, that's just my view.

My 19 year old nephew loved the last series saying it was the best since the show came back, me i was annoyed most of the year and mostly be the writer i loved previously (moffett). I also do love Amy and Rory and will be sad to see them go, however they should be gone now. the season finale was a good way to write them out, maybe a 1 episode visit this year and a last look in on them when Matt leaves, but really he needs someone new to pal around with. Hopefully matt will stay around for 4 years, we really need to break the 3 years or less started by Davison. All that said ... i am looking forward to the special and the next series, and onto the 50th anniversary year!

I think Mike means its now a show aimed at 12-22 year olds as opposed to the original series which was aimed as younger children and their parents. The same way that comics have shifted to aim at the grown fanboy

I hope they're not going to kill off Amy and Rory (havent they been killed off enough, already?), just let them live their lives away from the Doctor. They've already left, why does Moffat feel they need more than one ending?

Because RTD did a fine ending for everyone with The Stolen earth but felt the need to go back and see everyone again just 4 stories later in tennets last moments. so why not do that again?

I'm a Rory fan and would have rather Ponds left the Tardis at the end of this season with a relatively happy ending.

I'd like to see the doctor with a new companion or two this season.
