Aaaannnnd.. Feels Like Bad News For Another Remake: Man From U.N.C.L.E.

This just makes me feel like this is being forced at this point.

    Channing Tatum For Deadline.com

EXCLUSIVE: Steven Soderbergh, who just directed Channing Tatum in Magic Mike, is eyeing him for the lead in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., I’m told. Both of those films are at Warner Bros. Soderbergh has been looking for an actor to replace George Clooney, who bowed out because he’s having surgery and wasn’t up to the stunt work. That shouldn’t be a problem for Tatum. No offer yet, but let’s see how this plays out.
    WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

Noooooo. Tatum can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

He has the charisma of a bored stripmall Chiropractor's receptionist. I honestly would have preferred Jaleel White.

Yes he is. The worst bit of casting I've seen.

Perhaps this latest news will just make them kill or re-think the project. From Indiewire-

Troubled 'Man From U.N.C.L.E.' Feature Film Loses Its Director After all the casting problems with the big-screen version of the 1960s TV spy series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” the beleaguered production has suffered another setback.

Director Steven Soderbergh has decided to walk away from the project, reports Indiewire.com.

The director has been developing the film adaptation with writer Scott Z. Burns since early 2010. But after meetings with Warner Bros. this week, Soderbergh decided he’d had enough and chose to abandon the film.

The director and the studio could not agree on casting and budget, the story reports.

Seems like the smart move, honestly.

I'd rather not have a "Da Man from Unka" movie.
