this is going to be a fun movie. I recently read the series at my sons urging and really enjoyed it. Now we both cant wait to see the movie together,

So, for some reason I had it in my head that "Hunger Games" was just the next "Twilight"... is that not true?

Not even close. No vamps, or werewolves...more post apoclyptic....two are chosen from each sector/ town to compete in the hunger games. the one winner wins food and aclaim for his/ her town. 12 women/ men enter....one leaves. Teenagers are the competitors....weapons and skill are their tools.

I kept avoiding it as a Battle Royale knockoff, but the wife kept pushing it, and once I started I devoured it in a couple of days.

Whilete premise is the same as BR, it's inspiration is definitely reality TV and celebrity culture taken to extremes. The soap opera is actually played down to the point where the question isn't necessarily who will she choose, but who would she kill. Much better than any attempt I've tried to get into sexy vampires for the sake of my lovely spouse.
