Lost in Space fans, check out this new Dr Smith bust
While they were cute...there was nothing remarkable about either one of them.
Dr Smith, Will Robinson, and the Robot screamed Lost in Space...not Judy or Penny.
My humble opinion of course.
Very true, but where would classic sci-fi be without classic sci-fi HOTTIES? Penny Robinson was my Princess Leia before Obi Wan Kenobi was anybodies only hope! Though I now recognize that there were many, many stunning female guest stars on Star Trek, being a little kid at the time, I just kind of rolled my eyes when Kirk made out with them. But Penny and Judy Robinson.... They were charming, attractive and very appealing ensemble co-stars and the number of episodes they were in was only decreased in the final 2nd and 3rd seasons. In the 1st season, they both actually had numerous speaking parts and were integral to the plots of many episodes. But yeah.... "Never fear, Smith is here." More a comic book villain than an intellectually stimulating classic sci-fi heavy, but hey! He's Dr. Smith!
Leader of the Hunt: I don't understand these animal psychologists. What is Dr. Zira trying to prove? Dr. Zaius: That man can be domesticated.

Thanks, but you're right. Dr. Smith is at the very heart of Lost in Space and the show simply wouldn't have been the same without him. As quite literally evidenced by the fact that the one and only episode that he did not appear in (the original pilot) did not work until Jonathan Harris was brought in.

I wonder if Billy (Mumy) knows about this. I think I'll leave a message on his board.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
