A few years ago I would have never believed that poster was real. Now movie promotion art (and especially Star Wars art) is so terrible I have no way of knowing.

That stinks to high heaven. Please dont let Mr. McQuarrie see this, especially at this stage of his life.

Gee, I thought Lucas wasn't obessessed with Star Wars. I have no doubt the movie will be altered in same way beyond turning it into 3D. Lucas has made a fool of himself with his Star Wars fixation. Enough already! Trying doing something new!

I'm sure there will be tons of merchandise associated with the 3D release. Maybe not to the level of a new film but enough to turn high profits. I have no problem with Capitalism it's just that I have become very cynical about George Lucas and his treatment of Star Wars.

I agree. I still love Star Wars, but I'd like to see something I haven't already. The Galaxy is big, and I'm sure interesting stuff happens to more than ten people. One of the great things about the Marvel comic -pre Empire especially- was that they HAD to do new stuff, and I think they came up with a lot of memorable, good things. Maybe Lucas should tap into some of those?

I think Lucas is trying to avoid the awfulness of the movie. He admites its bad!(Notice how the poster has no sign of Qui-gon,Anakin,or Jar Jar!)

LUcas one day thought to himself,
"OMG! i haven't made an effortless 100 million bucks in 3 YEARS! I need more cash to buy that coffee machine in SkyMall! Put Star Wars 1 back in theaters! But that soda maker is nice to..... I got it, make a bad fighter pilot movie called 'Red Tails'!"

The crappy box art for the Blu-ray Complete Saga features lil' annie: Star Wars: The Complete Saga [Blu-ray]: Amazon.ca: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher: DVD

Also the ghost of Luke or something - I can't tell from the pics online - but I can tell that it's crappy looking.

All six Star Wars movies are being re-released in 3D over the coming years, apparently.

It was announced by Lucasfilm quite a while ago.

He could be terrified from the nerd rage over 1, 2, and 3.

Hes got nothing to lose, I'd rather he did 7-9 than rehash, repackage 1-6.
