I, for one welcome our new insect overlords

The Hellstrom Cronicle was a sort of scary pseudo documentary about mankind's inevitable war with the insects.
I was really into this after taping it off of late night TV many, many years ago, but hadn't thought about it in years. After wracking my brain I remembered the title.

It is not available on DVD, but has been uploaded onto youtube
In this part the terrifying Driver ants kill all before them.
Not for the faint of heart!!

Are there any other fans of this unique film out there?

I dig insects...and I don't find them terrifying like humans (the most dangerous creature on Earth)...I find them fascinating...and awesome...thanks for the heads up...love this stuff...I'll watch the entire thing for sure....

P.S. Make sure to check out the Science Channel Monster Bug Wars...it's awesome...

The narration is very outdated though...very bombastic and full of hot air...calling the Siafu (driver ants)...mindless killers...which is a crock of bull poo...but hey...I'm watching it because I dig the ants...I'll probably watch it with the sound off...

I really like the scare-mongering, frantic narration! It is totally over the top, but this is more of an entertainment than a serious documentary.
'Dr Hellstrom' who introduces and hosts the movie, is actually an actor.
I have not looked up when the film was made, but reckon it's from the early 80's.

The close up photography in the film is awesome.

I'm in the Anti-Bug camp. I hate all of them. It's fascinating stuff, but I can't stand the little things despite their value to the circle of life.

I'm content to share the world with them, but I don't like them.

You won't want to watch this film in that case. The footage of the termite queen is pretty gross... but interesting

When I watch ants on TV I start to have imaginary itches and need to scratch. TRUE!
