Everyone needs to check out Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Star One project. Every song is about a very specific sci-fi film. Read the lyrics to figure out the movie. They have a song called Master of Darkness, which sounds like a typical metal tune. Its a song about Darth Vader. Grab some YouTube clips. It doesn't get any more scifi than this band.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I'm extremely surprised no one has even mentioned THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT. They have heavy roots in sci-fi and mystery. Give a listen to I, ROBOT or EYE IN THE SKY and the Edgar Allen Poe inspired TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION. All great albums!!!

Now that I've looked I can't find a lot of sci-fi inspired songs - I guess I just thought they would have had some, but it turns out they're just really weird. Oh well:
