I haven't seen it, but from what I've read in various newpapers, I have a good idea as to the plot.
But, being the nitpicker that I am, I have a few um....nits to pick (not very witty, I know, just bear with me.)
For one thing, wasn't there a freaking huge asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago? Going back that far in time seems a bit stupid, considering that the expedition would soon be wiped out, and rendered completely moot.
For another, are they really going back in time on their planet, or have they jump started an alternate reality?
The time travel I can deal with, but it should be believable.
Go back in time to when there weren't a heckuva lot of people, and find a nice plot of land that isn't currently occupied. If you don't want to influence stuff in Asia or Europe, pick a place in the Americas, free of native peoples, and set up a nice little colony there.
Say 35,000 years, where there are plenty of wooly mammoths and other large animals for a meat source (being careful about not killing them all, and not being greedy), but not having to deal with T-Rex, and being dinner for HIM!
Build a nice little civilization that at least attempts to get along their neighbors (emphasis on ATTEMPTS, there's no way they're going to get along with everyone); maybe send expeditions over to Europe and Asia to see what's going on over there, so you can keep up with things.
Let little smidgeons of ideas become public knowledge, like hygiene, medicine, mathematics, etc. with an emphasis on the humanities.
There will be hiccups along the way, some big and some small, but as long as they keep an eye out for potential Hitler types, and take appropriate measures, they should be fine.
