    Torchwood on BBC

Seen an ad for 'Torchwood' on DR Who tonight.

They will air it 'from the beginning'. I think it starts in October.

Never could get into Torchwood. Only liked about one of the characters.

Torchwood has a neat sense to it, each season has it's own merits, and it's own hiccups. I like it though, Gwen kicks *****!!!

            End season spoiler:

So the big reveal is this?
There's some sort of organic pole in the Earth, which is like...The Force ("it binds us")? And when you throw something in it, it reverses everything? Like reverses the Polarity of the neutron flow?
How new and inventive! I'm glad they took ten episodes to tell us that.

Taking 5 episodes to do one story (Children of Earth) wasn't much better.

IMO any show that takes too long to pull off one story is too full of itself.

ummmm. Daleks Master Plan, War Games, Trial of a Time Lord
Just about any of the early seasons where story arcs were usually 6 or so episodes long.

                  >when you throw something in it, it reverses everything?

It's a sort of circuit for all the life on Earth, and when it encountered Jack's immortal blood that circuit got reversed. I don't know if it's sentient; the characters thought so, but it could have been a non-aware grounded circuit type thing. A byproduct of so much life on one planet.

....and yeah; 10 episodes was kinda long. I suspect the producers had the idea first, but were told by the studio to make it a full 10.
