ST:TNG High Def blu ray sampler disc coming

Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD news: Update about Star Trek: The Next Generation on Blu-ray Disc | TVShowsOnDVD.com

They seem to be doing for TNG what was done for TOS.

As some know Doing it for TNG is more of a challenge since the show was mastered to videotape, instead of film.

The live action segments were filmed but were edited and post produced on video. I don't think the film segments were kept (at least all of them) like what was done for Seinfeld.

So, it will be interesting to see how good this sampler disc looks.

I think the picks for the sampler disc could have been better.

Best of Both Worlds should be in there imo

So will they re-combine the models & effects digitally or totally replace the SPFX with CGI constructed ships and elements? They used cheap-looking weather-forecaster type green screen for the first few seasons. It's going to be a tough job to make those segments look good unless they re-do them.

I believe they are redoing the effects like they did for TOS remastered in CGi.

I agree wholeheartedly, Mikey. TBOBW was TNG at it's finest hour and deserves a spot at the big table with classic TOS episodes like THE CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER, BALANCE OF TERROR and MIRROR, MIRROR....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
