The character is now called Battle Fist. Mattel lost the trade mark to Lucas.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Over at heman.org the biggest topic is always about a new movie.

I just don't see it happening. A movie based on a guy named "He-Man" in 2011? No way. Major changes would have to be made to the story, so much, that it wouldn't even be MOTU (MUCH like this film wasn't).

As much as I love MOTU (one of my favorite lines ever), it was still just a toyline and all the many backstories are terrible and illogical, because like I said, it was just to sell a toyline.
The success of Transformers movies might prove otherwise... I can't even figure out what's going on let alone tell the robots apart.

back when first released i totally hated this because i thought this was part of the reason hemans toys were starting to phase out. i didnt know till later that the toy line was basically at the end anyways...
now in some ways i think its good campy fun. think its a entertaining watch at least compared to some of the fx junk thats released now.
Theres this long standing rumor that much of the movie is based on New Gods. John Byrne talked about it in JBNM many years ago in his letter column. I dont know how much though....

That just blew me away. I never realized that, but knew he was familiar somehow.
Chelsea Field as Teela never quite burst into an A-List actress but has appeared in many TV shows and movies like The Last Boy Scout & Commando.
I always liked her, generally speaking. Back in the 80s, I thought her and Gina Gershon were great and never knew why they didn't become more popular.

              Hmmmm....

Now that I know that a lot of movies start out as something completely different from what they end up as (ie: "GI Joe:Rise of Cobra" being the script for an unrelated movie with Joe slapped on) I wonder if that's what happened with THIS movie.

I saw some early concept art from this movie in an old magazine once (maybe Starlog, can't remember exactly), and it was really great.
Originally the movie was pretty much going to be set entirely on Eternia.
                That would have been awesome.
