    Man from Atlantis Love

Amazon.com: Man From Atlantis: Complete Television Series (Remastered, 4 Disc): Patrick Duffy, Art Lund, Victor Buono, Belinda Montgomery: Movies TV

One of the things I treated myself to over my vacation break was the Man from Atlantis set. I have hazy but fond memories of the show and I regularly read the Marvel comic as a kid. I caught some reruns in the eighties but they weren't great episodes.

I've only just watched the pilot and a handful of episodes but it's better than I remember or expected, especially Victor Buono as the villian, Mr Schubert. He's camping it up but he's also somewhat menacing.

Plus, the first episode I watched had Mark taking down all of Schubert's goons single handedly, which was a rare bit of violence for a late seventies show.

Anybody else a fan of MFA?

Yes,use to watch MFA when i was a kid, have not seen it since it was on tv back in the 70's.I loved it when he use to show his webbed hands, did'nt his eyes change colour and he had gills on his neck?

When we use to go to the local swimming baths,we would try and swim like him.

I haven't seen it in like forever but I remember really liking it as a kid. Even had some of the Marvel comics from it. Glad to hear it holds up. I would have totally gotten those Kenner MFA toys as a kid had they been released.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I know I'm due for some real clunkers coming up but the show was quite good, I'm honestly looking forward for my next quiet hour (the wife ain't into these) to watch more.

I always enjoyed seeing the lines of the pool in the background when he was supposed to be in some large natural body of water.

That's a favourite tell of mine in just about every 70s television production.

I have to admit I never even noticed the pool lines as a kid.

The hell? I've never even heard of this series, and I was an 8 year-old glued to the TV in 1977. Weird..

I've always thought it was a great show, and would make webbed hands for myself as a kid with rubber housecleaning gloves. I have all the Marvel comics, the paperback adaption of the pilot movie, a hardback British annual, as well as the pilot movie DVD...there just doesn't seem to be a lot out there. I'll probably get the rest of the movies and the series soon. I wonder what it was up against in its time slot? It should have been more successful. The pilot is actually pretty decent and would be something I'd like to see Hollywood reboot. It's a cool concept and would still work, IMO.

I liked it, but it was always pre-empted on our local stations...just like the old Gemini Man, and Logans run series where. Even at that age I knew constant pre-empts meant the show was doomed.
