AAAGGHHH! It's amazing how those little extra nuggets of the original trilogy respark my love of the original trilogy. This may force me (no pun intended) to buy a blu ray player.

Awesome. That reel pretty much touches on almost all of my most wanted list for original trilogy deleted scenes.

      At last!

Was the Wampa's attacking the rebel base on Hoth a full shot scene? Or was that never fully completed?

Yeah, they abandoned most of the Wampa scenes before completing them.

Finally getting to see at least some of the parts they actually did shoot will be awesome.

I'm sure that if we buy this set, they'll release an "Ultimate SW box set" five years later with even more "scenes we simply must see"...
It's like the LOTR sets, they just keep on coming...

Too bad. The idea of the Wampa attack is awesome. I would love to have seen that completed and added into the film.

So the ROTJ shoot out scene… I remember reading that Richard Marquand had problems directing the film since he had never done a special effects film before. The snippet of that scene over there really is jaw-droppingly “I don’t know how to frame a shot”-ish.

yeah, but LOTR sets are not being released with new footage, it is just re-releases on Bluray. the orignial extended versions had been announced when the movies came out. Jackson said he would release extended versions of each film befor ethe next one would come out.
Lucas holds onto stuff for each re-release. if these scenes were put back into the movies and even maybe completed for the stuff like the wampa scene, then i would buy it. otherwise i will just check out the scenes once they hit youtube. I am not buying any more of his re-releases

it also depends on how much deleted footage they provide. I could give a flying F about booray, and I have some of the previous dvd and laserdisc releases. However if it ends up being something like 20-30 mins worth of various deleted scenes I will pick it up for that alone. It it ends up being like 8 mins worth I am not going to bother

I have all these scenes already on a bootleg DVD, and I'm perfectly happy with that. The scenes are pretty messy to begin with, so I don't need HD BluRay to enhance them anyway...

I'm definitely looking forward to getting footage of the Luke & Biggs scenes in fairly decent quality.
I have those already from the old "Behind the Magic" CDROM, but having them again will still be awesome.
(Obviously they won't be pristine quality, but they'll almost certainly have cleaned them up at least a little.)

And stuff like the Wampa attack fragments from Empire and the Tatooine sandstorm from Jedi is stuff that I've been waiting 30 years or more to finally see.

So, I'll definitely be buying these discs.

(The fan-made "Deleted Magic" DVD is also a really good source of vintage deleted scenes and behind the scenes footage from SW. Lots of research went into that.)
