POTA The films v The Series

I preferred the series, although the 1st movie was excellent and Escape from POTA was also very good.

Wasnt fussed on the last movie. Wonder what the new one will be like

I've always thought that the TV series was WAY underrated. It's really a shame that it only lasted one season. I love the films as well, but the whole concept of the series, though somewhat redundant, was exactly what I wanted to see when I was a kid. Also, the Galen character was absolutely amazing. I much prefer him to Cornelius, and so did McDowell. He's stated in interviews that the character was much more larky and fun to play. It was his favorite of all the POTA stuff he did.

I find myself watching the series more than I do the films, though like I said, I LOVE it all!

I got into POTA first through the animated show, then the series and then the movies. I love them all as a result.

My pecking order was first movie, TV series, animated series and then the rest of the movies. I love them all equally and watch them once a year. My wife calls it Ape week (or two)!

I like the first movie better than anything,

After that I like the series and then the movie "Battle For"

I'm not a big fan of Beneath, Escape and Conquest - but they're ok.

I think the series had a bigger impression on me as a kid than I realized; although I didn't have any figures from the series, when I would play, Cornelius invariably had Galen's personality. I think it has a lot to do with not having video or DVD players--it was what was fresh in my mind.

The thing with the TV series I've always wondered if it kept going, would they have gone on a road trip to other parts of the country?

loved it all. as a kid i only remember the tv series as the 5 movies they made out of 10 episodes. i was only 3-4 when it originally aired. as an adult Beneath is my favorite movie and I love the tv series. I always wished they would have kept humans dumb like in the movies and explore the planet more

Nothing...and I mean nothing...beats the very first film.

I vividly remember as a little kid (about six years old)...my dad taking me to the theater and watching it together...I was actually scared to death...lol...but aside from being a true classic...it's the memory and nostalgia watching it with my dad, that makes this movie so very special to me...it gives me chills just thinking about it.

I love both the series and the movies. But I really find Alan, Pete and Galen quite endearing. I love their relationship, and the way they manage not only to survive, but do it w/ fun and humor. The movies were a bit more serious, and that's fine. I think it just depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Very well put, Sharry. My sentiments exactly...

Alan and Peter have that blonde/brunette Starsky and Hutch thing going

Now that I think about it, I think they might have been S&H before S&H
