This looks to be the best attempt since the original series. It has heart which is nice to see.

OK - I LOVED ALL of the original series - I HATED the marky mark/burton one.

I was not even happy when I heard this new one was getting made.

HOWEVER - I just accidentally saw the trailer for it.

Oh my goodness! It takes off where Apes 3 left off. Before 4 -(or is it and insted of apes 4 movie?) Caesar looks great. Except for Franco who I can't stand seeing on screen -I AM IN

It was either him or Sam Worthington. Those two are in everything lately.

The difference is that Sam Worthington is actually likable.

James Franco on the other hand can be very annoying.

Yes, ROTPOTA is "instead of" CONQUEST and it has no connection to the ESCAPE or CONQUEST films... RISE is being called a prequel by some, a reboot by others, but whatever you call it the director is saying that it'll lead up to the events of the first film... It's basically a starting point/origins film...
