Y'know that's another 70s sci-fi film I read about in Starlog at the time, but never saw.

      I need to fix that.

It's a good fun movie, but don't expect super great special effects

It's very TV-movie-ish ... like Westworld and Final Countdown

I have fond memories of that film.
True, FX are pretty shaky, but I can't resist an "it's the end of the world" picture...
And it has some George Peppard A-team moments!

the effects are from 1976 when it was filmed pre-Star Wars.they are not bad Im just wondering since Blu-Ray is 1080P what they are gonna look like? I wonder how much restoration was done from the original film source?

I suspect some things should look good --- the funky sky

and some things should look nasty --- the giant scorpions

The scorpions really looked pasted-on, yeah.

And it was the start to Jan-Michael Vincent's glorious career in movies!

Ahhh, the movie that 20th Century Fox thought would be the blockbuster while they buried Star Wars as being the “dud.”

I've always been a fan of DAMNATION ALLEY, despite it's hokiness and kinda crappy SFX. I think THIS would be a good movie to do a remake of....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
