I have never seen the original Planet of the apes film, what is wrong with me?
Now just a second. I wasn't into POTA as a kid. My dad had the series on one night, and I just wasn't into it. I got into it as an adult when the Sci-Fi Channel first aired it. Then I gave the series a chance and loved it. Now I'm really into the apes. So I don't think you have to have seen it as a kid to really appreciate it.
To answer this thread subject's question: It's not so much what is wrong with YOU but what is wrong with everyone ELSE who continues to carry on conversation with a HEATHEN!!!!!!????
Planet of the Apes isn't just a series of films, nor part of popular culture, it's an obsession... Not sure how old you are, but I'm assuming you're an adult, so even as brilliant as those films are, they probably will not have the same effect on you as they would had you seen them when you were a kid. The nostalgic aspect of seeing the mego commercials, the TV series, and all the toys and stuff, is a huge part of the mythos for me and many others here. You should definitely see the films, but it's kinda sad that you waited this long. They just won't have the same effect. Those films, much like Star Wars, need to be discovered through a child's eyes...
That's awesome! I've only got back into Megos in the last year or so, and haven't had any luck finding them in the wild here.
I went to a swapmeet up in Ballarat awhile back and a guy had a naked, broken Batman and he was trying to sell it for $15. I wouldn't pay that amount for something like that. You should really try Australian ebay, there are a few good auctions on at the moment.
That's a nice area, have you built any of your mego collection locally? I went to a second hand market one day near Rosebud and I picked up a few old megos for a dollar each. I find it abit of a challenge to find mego related items out here.

Aw yeah, another Aussie MM member... I can't help but be a little paroquial
I live on the other side of town, near Caulfield.
