      Hmmmm....

      It's weird; but I don't remember a lot of Ewok hate when the film came out.... the hate came later, after the cartoon. I think folks were okay with them when Jedi came out 'cos even though they were ambulatory teddy bears they still had something of an edge to them. (Being cannibals and all....) And the Empire being defeated by them was acceptable. Hell; in the first film the Death Star was taken out by 30 one man fighters; Star Wars is ALL ABOUT the underdog. (Under....bear?) But the Ewoks became focus of the big kid push that followed, and I think that rubbed fans the wrong way.
