Movie and TV Spaceships you don't like

We always do lists of ship we like .....

How about a list of ships we don't like .... with a brief reason why.

My list in not in any kind of order

    1. Battlestar Galactica (Classic) ... I just never liked it - can't explain why.

    2. Battlestar Galactica (Classic) Vipers ... Too much of a ripoff of X-wings

    3. New Star Wars --- too many to name ... most just dont look like they were made BEFORE the ships of the classic movies

    4. Classic Star Wars Y-wing fighter .... To me it always reminds me of a ripoff of the Enterprise.

    5. Star Trek TNG Romulan ... I just don't like it.

    6. Star Trek -3 Grissom ... How do you get from the primary hull to the secondary hull ? ... transporter ?

    7. Star Trek Botany Bay ... It looks like a submarine model kit.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head

Wow.. NICE TOPIC. Ya don't think about that question too often...:

    1) Buck Rogers' Draconian Fighters: What was THAT design about? Was that seriously the BEST they could do...??

    2) Space:1999's Hawks: My All-Time FAV show, but even that design was a bit phoned-in from the basic Eagle design..

    3) UFO's Moonbase Interceptors...: One big missile in the front. Whoopty..

    4) Trek NextGen/DS9 Runabouts...: For a BIG Shuttle-geek (always have been..) and having lots of $$ to buy 'em.., never bought the Playmates version. Style was just dull and mundane.

    5) LOTG Spindrift: Another big Favorite Show for me, loved the interiors but it just never liked it's outer shape.

    6) Space Academy's Shuttles (then morfed into Jason's Star Command ships): Mom & Dad's Van/RV, anyone..?? The ARK-II in space.

    7) Trek TOS Romulan ships..: As even back as far as the original Third Season, Rodenberry determined that they didn't fit in well.

    8) And last, certainly not least..: Any Next Gen Enterprise design after the Series ended.. From the wrong angle underneath looking up, they ALL looked like turkey's on their backs ready to be stuffed for Thanksgiving.

    Those are my 'top-of-my-head' pics.

not something I think of alot but I'll kick in some I don't like

BSG (modern) cyclon ship with the big head just silly especially compared to the classic series raiders

STTNG enterpise d with that giant sauce it just looked like an unmgaingly hippo compared to the classic gull shape of the TOS version - and when they detack both sides look worse

Buck Rogers in the 25th century - Searcher - it was just a rip off of the design for Discovery from 2001 A Space Oddessy

2001 A Space Oddessy shuttle pods - just never liked them

STTNG romulan ships - a bad evolution of the classic klingon crusier with a big ring on the back which seems to have been inspired by the ferging ship design

Star wars prequel trilogy most of the ships are too modern looking to have been designed 30 years before the chunkier desings of the original trilogy ships (if anything you'd expect the ships to be almost all rebel ships since that force would have used what was available as a covert army). another example where CG fails the SW franchise

Babylon 5 - while I was never a fan of the show I did watch pretty much all of it in reruns on tnt in the mid to late 90's but the x shaped ships are just odd looking ungainly designs

I always found it ironic that The Black Hole had one of the most awesome ships ever (Cygnus) and the lamest one ever (Palomino).

          Never liked the V fighters/shuttles.

The all time worst though? The mutant ship from the New Adventures of He-Man animated series.

The thing literally looks like a flying booger.

The biggest for me is Boba Fett's Slav I. I've never understood why that thing was always so popular.

I agree with the Ep-1 thru 3 Star Wars ships. They're too sleek looking. PLus the Jedi starfighter is so blah.

I thought Hawk's ship was.. so-so. Clawed feet, for rescuing other disabled ships....???

Seriously, for Buck's show, I didn't like any of their ships except for the Earth Starfighters.. Those were awesome fighters.

I loved the original BG Vipers.. Despite mimicing X-Wings, they, just like the show, really grew on me.

I'm such a nerd for anything 2001. I love that design - it looks like how Apple would design a shuttle pod to me.

                      Deep Space Nine Defiant

Love the show, but the Defiant looks like the Millennium Falcon with a dustbuster glued to the front.

All Trek sequels had lousy ships

The hotrod look ended with the classic movies

Just like Boba Fett, never understood why he was so popular a character from the movie. He had a lame death scene, just like his pop.

The Phoenix warp ship (from First Contact) - an ICBM with warp nacelles?
                          The Ferengi ships from ST:TNG
                          The Kazon ships from ST:Voyager
The Borg Cubes from seemingly every Trek series/movie
Voyager from Space:1999 (the one with the "Queller Drive" that kills people)
The Doomsday Machine from ST:TOS (great concept, but lousy execution)
Other than the classic Jupiter 2 & Space Pod on Lost in Space, nearly every other ship on the series (with the possible exception of the Derelict from the episode of the same name)

Never liked the TNG TV Enterprise...looks like a friggin' toilet bowl...lol.

But once it transitioned to the big screen...much improvement...it became sleeker and longer...like a luxury liner.

Never liked the Voyager ship either.

The Borg ship...a damn bloody cube...lol.

The Earth ships from Babylon 5...nothing but spinning giant tanks (I supposed to create gravity, plus oxygen and fuel)...humans had by far the ugliest ships in the Babylon 5 world.

And the ones I saved for last...I hate every single ship from the new Star Wars trilogy...every single one of them...may they all burn in hell for eternity.

                              Runabouts

Klingon Vor'cha a terrible design that takes all the good elements from the original Kilingon ship and mashes it up into a flat pancake. Designed by Rick Sternbach. Terrible.

                              The Defiant

Borg Sphere, (Oh-oh, The Borg have adapted from cubes to spheres! Now were in trouble!)

                              Cylon Basestars "new" BSG

                              B-Wing fighter

FYI - Hate the ships if you want but some things you might not have heard.

The Botany Bay was designed to look like a submarine.

Boba Fett's Slave 1 was designed to look like an iron; the kind you press your clothes with.

The Enterprise C was supposed to look more like the Enterprise D but cost cutting forced the model makers to change it. It was supposed to have an oval saucer and the secondary hull more similar to the "D".

The Romulan Warbird from TNG had it's orientation changed. It was supposed to look a lot like this, (but without eyes):

The Defiant was originally supposed to look like the U.S.S. Equinox. I think its design pre-dates the Voyager, tho they share similar traits:

The U.S.S. Grissom was designed by ILM. They hate the Enterprise model. They don't like the ships in Star Trek so they make new ones that look better, (Reliant, KBOP), or they make them look worse.

The Babylon 5 Starfury was designed to pay homage to the Star Wars X-Wing as both have the X-shaped wing design.

The Star Wars Prequel ships-most were not predecessors for the ships in movies 4, 5 & 6. The Naboo Ships were all royal starships. The only real predecessors you have is the ship ferrying the Jedi in E1 to the Trade Federation is the predecessor to the Corellian Corvette/Blockade Runner which you see in E3. There is also a ship that likely precedes the X-Wing in E3 called the ARC-170. Does the Jedi Starfighter in E2-AOTC preceed the A-Wing? Does the Sith infiltrator preceed Darth Vaders Tie-fighter? No one can really say.
