Ok, was watching an episode of Classic Columbo last night - specifically The Greenhouse Jungle.

I noticed the main theme sounded familiar

Then it hit me ....

Is this theme used on many SMDM's ? ... usually in establishing shots when Steve is driving etc ......

What your spotting are the contributions from composer Oliver Nelson who did episodes both for the SMDM and Columbo...namely the episode you have listed here. Like any composer, you will hear qualities in different scores that carry that trademark sound for which the composer is known for. You need look no further than John Williams for that. Listen to scores from Lost in Space, Jaws, Superman, and Jurassic Park and you will hear similarities that immediately denote this is a John Williams composition.

Same thing with composer James Horner. His old style dates back to Battle Beyond the Stars, which he carried over into Star Trek 2 & 3 and then into Cocoon, Aliens the Rocketeer and a bunch of other films.

Okay...another question for Six Million Dollar Man fans.

I have yet to purchase the DVD box set (too expensive for me) but I have a childhood memory that I need to check. Was there and episode where Lee Majors run across invisible water or invisible oil running in a stream? Yeah, it is a weird one. I have not seen this series since I was a kid but I remember this...maybe it was a childhood dream and not from the show?
