I was brought up watching all of those shows from the 70's and early 80's so I will always prefer the originals. My problem is that I like my Sci-Fi with what folks now call cheesy - laser bolts, no worry about whether something is physically possible, no shaky cam, actors in robot costumes, noise in space, etc. However, the new version was well done and I tried to follow it, too. I just don't have cable and now that I have seen the final ep online, don't really have a desire to watch any of what I missed. -
Nobody had to be safe all they had to do was kill them then the next episdoe they were a cylonLeave a comment:

my opinion of the new Battlestar is pretty much like Dirk Benedict article I watched the pilot back in 2003 but it did nothing for me .I have nothing against the actors of the new show I think they all would have served a better purpose in a continuation Story ,especially the girl Katiee she could have played his daughter in a continuation story that would have been awesome!!!Leave a comment:

I don't know why people around here don't like the new Battlestar. I like both a lot, but I was glued to my tv when the new ones where on! It was so good! Nobody was safe! The story telling was above and beyond what could be expected and it had a terrific cast. Is it because the tone of the show was so different?
I also love the female Starbuck. She's a great character. She borrowed elements from Dirk and then eventually made it her own. I plan on naming my daughter Kara after her (and Supergirl).
edit: Not judging anyone for not liking the show, obviously people are entitled to like or not like as they see fit.Last edited by boynightwing; May 12, '11, 8:56 AM.Leave a comment:

I always thought she hit several branches on the way down the ugly tree...She is no Marin Jensen (or even Anne Lockhart for that matter)
Hec we're all the same age range here 40-50 and we look at the hero of our youth in his mid 60's after the big C nad he is still in good shape and youthful we should all be so lucky to go through all that an look that goodLeave a comment:

I dunno, I prefer new Galactica over the old one. The original is pretty dated and mostly weak storywise. That is pretty funny. And you know I don't blame him about the new Battlestar Galactica. The new Hawaii 5-0 did the same thing w/ Kono. And all these remakes (in my opinion) are jokes. All the cool shows they're reworking, Charlie's Angels, Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, Battlestar Galactica, etc. ; the originals were like lighting in a bottle. No one is ever going to recapture that magic, originality and ingenuity again.

That is exactly one of the main reasonings as to why I no longer watch much TV at all. That is pretty funny. And you know I don't blame him about the new Battlestar Galactica. I mentioned this before, I met him in the mid 90's
He's probably the nicest celeb I ever met
We talked for like a half hour (nobody was in his line)
Funny thing is, we mostly talked about stupid stuff instead of his movies --- everything from gardening to why he likes the East Coast.
He really is a regular guy in real lifeLast edited by Mikey; May 11, '11, 3:52 PM.Leave a comment:

Dirk still looks great even almost a decade later when that Starbucks picture was taken love the guy met him in LA in 2001Dude looks terrific on top of being a cancer survivor as well. Kind of sad that most of The A-Team has/had cancer.
Him and Murdock still have great chemistry together.
