What are your Favorite sci fi movies?

My favourite sci-fi classics, excluding Star Wars and Empire, have to be the Heston Trilogy. POTA, Soylent Green and Omega Man. These are brilliant and the original books from which the movies are based are must reads. These stories demanded the classic Heston Overacting Style.
Other prominent faves are Westworld and Logan's Run. I named my son Logan after this movie. Chuck was second Choice but the wife wouldnt have it.
The one movie i have been dying to see again is Firebird 2015 A.D.. This movie was pure cheese but i remember staying up late to catch this more than once in the early eighties. I cannot seem to find a good copy of this anywhere, other than a few 25 year old VHS or Beta tapes on Ebay.
What are your Sci-Fi Faves? I'll post my non Sci FI faves later.

Not stating the obvious classics like SW, Alien and POTA, I love DARK CITY, Serenity, Akira, District 9, Predators, Cloverfield, just to name a few.

                      In no particular order:

                      War of the Gargantuas
                      Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
                      The Andromeda Strain (1971)
                      When Worlds Collide
The Amazing Colossal Man & War of the Colossal Beast
                      Godzilla (1954)
                      The Omega Man (1971)
                      The Land that Time Forgot
                      Forbidden Planet
                      Robinson Crusoe on Mars
                      20,000,000 Miles to Earth
All 5 of the original Planet of the Apes movies - especially Beneath & Escape
The Night Stalker (probably more horror than sci-fi)
The War of the Worlds (1988 TV series pilot movie)
It! The Terror from Beyond Space

and a whole bunch more that I'm probably forgetting!

As well as most of the films already named,

                        The Time Machine (1960)
                        War of the Worlds (1953)
Both these George Pal films are classics in my opinion

                        District 9
                        Children of Men

Ah hell, this is where I show my poor taste in sci-fi. I'm leaving out the obligatory Star Wars films. I'm only picking the absolute favs which furthers my demise.

Fifth Element - Quirky and uneven at times yet totally entertaining with a perfect blend of action and humor.

Predator - What else can be said? Arnold's best movie and possibly also the best action movie ever. Top five all-time material for me.

Star Trek(new one) - I'm just a wee bit young to really have an attachment to the original series, so their movies all kinda run together for me, though most are of high quality. This new version has so many cool nods to the past but adding contemporary elements. Badass in every sense.

Aliens - Much like Predator, this is very close to an action movie. Tense and funny at the same time. Bill Paxton slays. "Game over, man."

Terminator 2 - I never realized how much of a Cameron fan I am. Two in this list. Just too cool. "Liqvid metal." Here's a cool tidbit. Arnold's Terminator unit kills exactly...zero. The high body count in the first is equally matched by no kills in the second. I thought that was unique.

Alien Nation - I don't know of anyone else who likes this, but I thought is was a great buddy cop movie with a twist. Patinkin is perfectly cast. It also has Terrance Stamp. Nobody kneels, though.

I Come in Peace - Indie straight to video film that ruled my world. I wore out the VHS tape. It hasn't been released stateside on DVD, so I only have fond memories. Dolph Lundgren is a terrible actor, but this movie was beyond fun.

I have yet to see Avatar and am probably one of seven on the planet who haven't. I'll check it out when I get a blue-ray player.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
