Doctor Who - The Sun Makers talk

Was just watching the Sun Makers last night.

I really like this story a lot.

The over the top bad guys and story makes me think it could easily fit into the new series.

It's got just about everything one could want in a Who right down to Tom Baker offering everyone Jelly Babies thoughout the story

Also, Tom makes some pretty funny INSANE looking faces throughout

Leela still needs to be held back from cutting peoples hearts out

It's not my favorite Tom story, but after watching it again last night it's coming pretty close.

What do you think of the Sun Makers ?

Man, I barely remember it. I'll have to dig out the VHS sometime and re-watch it.

      Mikey:

That's why I had to have a copy of this episode. It's the most enjoyable of the later Leela episodes, through-and-through. Above the obvious ripping of the British tax system, it's a nice character-type story for Baker and Jameson.

LOVE the opening with K9 and the Doctor playing Chess...

All-in-All.., one of my all-time FAVORITE Tom Baker episodes..!!! It's just before it turned into more 'The Tom Baker Show' than 'Doctor Who'..

My Nephew doesn't understand why i place this one so high onmy favorite Tom baker storie. It is right at the top with genesis and atlons and seeds. This one is just so much fun and it's about not wanting to pay taxes, who can't relate?
        I love it!

I great example of what made Tom and Leela a good combination. it makes excellent use of the "Who" corridors to maixmize the shots. It was always a favorite

              DITTO, DITTO, DITTO..

It was when Tom Baker started to take more charge of the production, adding lots of style, but wasn't getting overtly 'pleased with himself' shall we say, like in the 'Key to Time' series and afterwards..

I'd put it at the same level of quality as his years with Sarah Jane.
