I remember when the episodes were bunched together to make the 5 "movies" that were debuted with Galen doing the intro and farewell spots that were discussed in the other thread. When they were run in my area, a lot of the original commercials were left in. The one I remember distinctly is the old 70's commercial for Ideal. - "If you've got a passion for fashion and you've got a craving for savings, take the wheel of your automobile, and head on down to Ideal". It was crazy seeing that and other old commercials for places long out of business.Comment

I was watching "The Trap" this past weekend. That's probably my favorite episode from the series. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but it probably is the set down in the old subway. I love the subway train poking out of the wall. Reminds me of the second movie "Beneath". I really like that movie, even though quite a few do not.Comment

There were actually a lot of really amazing actors in that guest starred in that show as apes. Percy Rodriguez and Jay Robinson, to name a few. As far as the humans, my favorite by far was Jackie Earle Haley as Kraik in the episode "The Legacy". That same year he did guest spots on The Walton's and Shazam, before getting the role of Kelly Leek in the Bad News Bears!

"The Trap" is the only ep I have besides the premiere episode on my iPod.
To me, it had the best character conflict and tension to it.. Wish more eps had this much development.
I LOVED the entire series, especially the leads (Mark Lenard was the best as Urko...). I sold the set a few years back, but will probably buy it again soon.

Does anyone else think that the girl in "The Trap" is a dead ringer, both looks AND voice for Jan Brady? And that her dad belongs on the top 10 worst actors list?Comment

I taped them off the Sci-Fi Channel years ago when they were running their "Series Collection". It includes all the commentary made by Roddy McDowall (RIP)."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

The father in that episode played Sestus later on in the episode "The Deception"... While he wasn't the best guest on the show, he was still a lot better (acting-wise) than Ron Stein... Stein was one of the most wooden actors on that series... He was their "lead" Gorilla extra and played a human in a few episodes too... And he waaaay over-did the nose wrinkling... He made McDowall's facial movements look subtle...
