It would have been interesting to see what Roddy looked like in that version of the makeup.
It would have been heresy for Roddy to be in that film.
And if anyone is making dvd copies of the aged Galen video, PLMK. I can only get audio on my WMP.

cool, that first link does work. wish the picture quality was better. this is something they really should have included in the box set or at least on the documentary Roddy hosted before he died.

Yes, I saw all these years ago on this site.. It's really a testiment to Mr. McDowell and his professionalism and love for the show. He's said many times he actually preferred the TV show to the movies because he got to engage in character growth for Galen.

He was always great fun to watch in the Apes documentaries as well.

    Great stuff!

My Mac Pro played it perfectly...but then again...I have Parallel Boot Camp with Windows installed in my Mac...best of both worlds...

OK, I finally SAW these... Absolutely brilliant. Roddy was the quintessential simian. I love the graying hair and how it's a little longer. I smell a custom in the works... If anyone has these on a decent quality DVD, I'll make it quite worth your while to find it and send me a copy.

Galen owns a Commodore PET? The Apes must have got pretty advanced after the series ended.

I downloaded them but couldn't play the video portion with Windows Media Player. But VLC player played both video and audio with no problems (great program, I swear, it can play practically any video file). Very cool to see these clips.

You can download VLC here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Those are great! I espcially like the last one! The video works fine for me and this PC is 9 years old! I did record those movies a couple of times, but not when this aired. I did record them from "Channel of the Apes" when they first aired on FMC a couple years back, so I do have all of the funny footage of the apes taking over the studio lot.

    Thanks for sharing, Scott.

Update. Make sure you get Mplayer Extended, which is a few down on the list when you search for Mplayer. That is the only viewer that will play them. The regular Mplayer will not. The last video has a neat ending.

Try just downloading the videos to your computer and opening them with Windows Media Player. I think something is buggy on the site that is not allowing the video feed. I don't know how much good it would to put these on a DVD. The videos are TINY. They would look pretty bad blown up to TV size.

If you are using a Mac, go to downloads.com and search for MPlayer. Download that and put it in your Applications folder. Download the AVI files from the site to your computer and use MPlayer to view them. That will do the trick.
