Science Channel Is Going to Air "Firefly"

The Science Channel has acquired the rights to the cult-hit and will air the series in its short-lived entirety, plus some new extras. Science Channel will wrap each episode with interstitial segments starring renowned physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, who will discuss the theoretical science behind the show’s sci-fi concepts.

I would guess another series is totally out of the question, but if they acted quick enough, there is a big enough fan base to support another movie (even if it is only made for cable...no need for a theatrical release since it was a network show to begin with).

I'd really love to see one more chapter, but I'd guess it would have to be set before the events of "Serenity" (and that's why I think they need to act quickly if they are ever going to pull it off....can't have a "reunion special" without getting too convoluted given the way "Serenity" seemingly ended the story).

That was a fun series. I can't believe it got cancelled that quickly, especially when you look at some of the other garbage that goes on for years.

I'm not even sure I get the science channel.. (checks)... hey, I do! Cool. Even tho I have the whole series on dvd, I'll tune in whenever I get the chance.

It'd be great if there were more adventures of Capt Tightpants and friends someday, but I doubt it'll ever happen. The movie was their big second chance, and it flopped. And Whedon certainly wrote it as a "one off" anyway..
