Before the prequels came out, it was the ONE and ONLY bane to my SW-crazed cousin's existance..

Used to tease him whenever he got too critical about my Star Trek back in the 70s.

Makes PHANTOM MENACE look not-so-bad, eh? I just gave a copy of it to my daughter's girl scout troop leader for her SW fan husband a couple of days ago, and said "Watching it during the holidays doesn't make it any less horrible. Have fun!"

hey, I like Phantom Menace.
the Holiday Special, as bad as it is, actually has a kind of 70's charm to it....not that that makes it any less painful to watch...kind of a time capsule into a very strange decade

I own this I got it on Ebay with loads of extras all the star wars palitoy and kenner adverts , ok the special is a bit daft but it is fun I love it there singing and little snippets of greatness the DVD is a picture disc with a superb cover

yeah I have a copy on DVD that has some Kenner commercials in it. quality is not bad, maybe a c7-8.....if you can sit through the special that is....LOL

I think it was after. I haven't seen it in years, but if I remember correctly, he had to be caked in makeup.

I remember watching this at my friend's house when it first aired. As die hard Star Wars starved nuts, we were so excited. What a let down.....

Even as a kid, the only thing I really cared for was the cartoon segment. I was used to Filmation, and that Nelvana style seemed really cool and unexpected to me.

Still love that animated segment with Boba Fett.
