Was watching Revelation of the Daleks tonight and got a little confused. Here we have the Sixth Doctor say he's 900 years old. Five Doctors later and he's not really that much older, according to what's been said in the series.

He's like a lady who doesn't want to say so he makes up a number he feels like.
Ladies please don't berate me for this.
we may never actually know, as the production office personel keep changing and they control what is put out."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom -
The Doctor claim's he's 900-something, but that age doesn't jive up.
First off, you can clearly see each regneration does age about the same as humans (see Tom Baker)
Ok, now let's start with William Hartnell - he's about 60-ish.
For the regenerations, the Doctor should age as much as his regenations aged .....
I'm going to make a guess how much each regeneration aged and i'm being very liberal
Troughton - 5 years
Pertwee - 7 years
Baker - 10 years
Davison - 5 years
Baker - 5 years
McCoy - 10 years
McGann - 1 year
Eccleston - 1 year
Tennant - 5 years
Smith - 1 year
All this added up should make the Doctor about 110 years old.Comment

He reminds me of my Titi Annabelle who's been 29+ ever since she turned 60.
She just turned 80 two days ago, and she recently upgraded to 39+.
I figure that the way that the writer's constantly change his age, we're never going to find out.JediJaidaComment

The age of the Doctor has always been a fluid thing. Troughton mentioned he was about 500 years younger after regeneration, Pertwee often mentioned being 1000 and Tom was pretty consistant with 750 or so
This site pulls it together with epsiode references

Anyone notice that each regeneration seems to look younger than the last. Maybe he reverse ages, like Mearth from Earth ( Mork & Mindy).
Perhaps his next regeneration will be as a preteen.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In 'Tomb' he claims he's 450 years old to Victoria
749 in 'Morbius' and 'Seeds'
759 in 'Ribos' he says 756 but is corrected by Romana (he'd been piloting the TARDIS for 523 years)
He says he's been rounding down his age in 'Leisure Hive'
he's 900 in 'Revelations'
953 in 'Time and the Rani'
In the Russell era it hovers at about 900 being stated in 'End of Time' as 906.
Smith's Doctor tells Amy Pond he is 907
so in other words....
WHO KNOWS???????
The third Doctor implies twice that his life span has spread over thousands of years , but Pertwee's charactwer could be flamboyantly lying or means he's traveled through thousands of earth yearsENGLISH AND DAMN PROUD OF ITBritish by birth....English by the grace of God.
Yes Jamie...it is big isn't it....
