A few examples ....

1984
1996 (Lost in Space Jupiter launches)
1999 (Moon blasted out of Earth's orbit)
2001
2010 (year we make contact)

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment

I think for the most part, 2011 is just the year before 2012....the year it all goes to hell.

2011, unfortunately, is the year when the SW movies are released again. It's kind of like Groundhog Day in space. Constantly repeating the same thing.
This time, though, the Cantina will included a duet by Kanye West and Rihanna, and Jabba will fart the Imperial March in the background....
