    Star Wars Kenner commercials

I've seen a ton of these over the years, and with the advent of youtube, I've seen almost every incarnation... except for one.

And of course, it's this ONE I want to see most of all.

When I was a kid, I recall watching this commercial during the afternoon... it was for the Empire Strikes Back I believe... and the one memory that sticks out for me is Han Solo being "frozen in carbonite" but the little kid in the ad placing an upside drinking glass on the Han Solo figure.

Anybody know of this commercial? Anyone got a link? Am I imagining that I saw this ad?

    Help please.

I remember seeing that as well. On another subject, I'd like to see a new Toybox entry for the new year. It's been a while. I can only re-read the Batgirl one so many times... LOL

there is an amazing fan made dvd floating around (full dvd using vhs/16 mm sources, not divx download crap) of like 2 hours worth of star wars toy commercials and very rare promos. I can see if it is on that
"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hells Angels is currently unclear,"

          I'm working on it

I like to post a picture of the toy I write about, and well, I'm trying to find some references for several stories I have waiting in the wings.

On another subject... yay, at least one person reads my blog!

          --------------------------------------------------------------

I'm glad other people remember this Star Wars commercial. I was starting to believe I had imagined it!

I might remember the one you mean, but my memory is a little different... I seem to remember them having what looked like kite string looped around his upper arms/shoulders and "lowering" him into the Carbonite Chamber (a plastic cup)... Maybe it ended with the cup over him...?

LadyZod - I recall that commercial, sure.. I'll try and find it. In the mean time, HERE are some funny 'tributes' to Kenner-style vintage SW ads:

(BE WARNED: They are NOT for the kids, and contain rough language as well as insensitive comments/images, but taken with a grain of salt, they are hilarious! My wife tells me that the one ad is US playing with our toys..LOL)

I've seen these before. I'm a fan of the Sucklord, as well as many of his cohorts.
