Saw the preview of this movie the other night, and saw Harrison Ford in it. Any one know anything about it? The title alone sounds rediculous...

....."we need a good idea or we are going to loose our jobs....whats hot?"

"How about another alien movie...those always do pretty good."

" Naw we need something retro...how about a western...those are about due for another run."

Really? Cowboys and Aliens? They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood. There are plenty of great books that should be made into movies....Whens someone going to make "Enders Game?"

It was a comic book first. Been "in development" for a very long time before this film was finally made.

I'm deffinately gonna watch it...anything with Ford is watchable. Plus I wanna see them pull this off. THe whole premise sounds goofy....cant wait.

It does look cool, but your right...it does come off like a "what genres can we mix together this week gang --and before you even say it, NO to monsters and porn Smith" kind of film. Anybody remember an old b movie where they had cowboys fighting a dinosaur?? I cant remember the name, but this thread had me thinking of it. Same with the old Gene Autry serial "The Phantom Empire". Sci-fi meets singing cowboy.

I saw a cool preview on IMDB, then my wife found another one on Yahoo that I didn't watch all of but it looked goofier.

I haven't seen the comic, but this could be cool. Anyone interested in this movie might also like Ancient Aliens running on cable. There was a 2hr movie last year, or a few 2hr movies and then 2 short seasons as a TV show, the 2nd season is on now.

There was a site a while back where you could read the whole Cowboys and Aliens graphic novel online, and I decided to read it as a goof, and because I thought if Favreau was so excited about it, it'd be worth checking out. I really enjoyed the premise, and it was a fun read. I think the Favreau/Ford/Craig combo will be a hit, and I will definitely be checking this one out in the theaters.
