I agree with you guys.
I enjoy 'junk food' as well, more bordering on 'exploitation' maybe, (Walking Tall, Super Fly, Machete, etc.) but I'm not sure WHAT to make of this one.
Maybe more along the lines of 'Hollywood junk food' - Independence Day, StarShip Trooper, Pitch Black,- no?
His remake of Dawn of the Dead was pretty terriffic though, and the original is one of my favorites..Comment

While watching this trailer I found myself thinking "The only thing that strikes me as criminally insane amongst all these pretty, perfectly powdered and coiffed girls is the length of their eyelashes..." Sorta like Brazil meets Catholic School Girls Gone Wild.

I hear you, and Sukeban Deka was the first thing I though of too. Still, sometimes I'm a sucker for a "style over substance" film with Asian influences, and Zack Snyder has always impressed me more than I expected him to (from his Dawn of the Dead remake to Watchmen), so I'll definitely be checking this out.
