    Back to the Yellow Submarine?

Zemeckis Yellow Submarine To Be Captured In April Bleeding Cool Comic Book News and Rumors

I wonder how all the trippy elements of this will translate as CGI motion capture?

Isn't Cary Elwes a little old to play a Beatle ?

Or is it all CGI with just his voice ?

It's ALL CGI and I for one have been looking forward to it as is our family. We are huge Beatles fans and LOVE the original YS. Glad they are keeping the spirit and despite what folks think, they are entitled to their opinion but one thing is keeping the spirit of the Beatles alive for future generations. My 3 year old daughter already knows the lyrics to "Yellow Submarine" and "When I'm 64". Brilliant!

Even if this just means that the original will be remastered and released on Blu-ray (with lossless audio), I'm all for the remake.

^^^Shouldn't be too far behind since Sony ATV owns all Beatle rights so it makes sense for them to profit off this bandwagon once it's starts rolling in a couple of years.
The DVD in surround is amazing to date as is the remastered re-tracked YS SoundTrack album.

I'm curious to see how this plays out. Zemeckis has experience having directed The Polar Express. I'll bet Robin Williams is offered the part of Jeremy Hillary Boob, PhD. If they keep the original film's submarine design they may make more accurate models and toys of it. What had been released so far has been somewhat lacking.
