Very cool. Well worth the price if you really want them.

        Mark Hamill's was $125.00 and a 3 hour wait.

Pricey yes, but these are my ultimate childhood heroes. Aside from Henry Winkler that is.
I'd say Mark's is pretty steep, but hey, for 'ultimate childhood heroes', it's worth every penny..!!!!!!

A 3hr. wait would dictate that he's in real demand at $125
... so, hey, what can the guy otherwise do?

Does Hammil do con appearances often? If not, the price isn't quite as insane.

But it's pretty insane, either way.

But if you are comfortable paying that for it, it's worth it.

              Cool pic, and cool autographs!

I don't know... it seems if he raised it to $175... the wait may very likely
be about an hour (& I think I'm lowballing it). That seems actually
more "sane" to me... and, yet, it's a higher price.

Does "number of con appearances" really come into it
                (at this $125 point)?

'Cause "125 bucks and a 3 hr. wait" is still "125 bucks and a 3 hr. wait"
no matter "how many" con appearances.

Both Mark Hamill and Carrier Fisher completely sold out their alloted autograph tickets. I pre-ordered mine before the con so I didn't have to worry.

This is the first U.S. Star Wars celebration Mark Hamill has signed at. The only other Star Wars con he did was Celebration Japan in 2008.

He also did Celebration Europe in summer 2007.
His charge then was about £80 GBP per autograph, which is about $124 USD.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you must.
I know I'm irresistable to women, yet I never charge them for my services...

Seriously. Years back, at a local convention, Ray Park and Anthony Daniels went into a "bidding war", as to who should get top billing. So everytime one of them charged like $20, the other went to $25 and so on.

I can tell you, there's nothing like seeing a little boy waiting two hours in line, and then getting an icy 'that'll be $40'. Little boys crying their eyes out, always the goal of every celebrity.....

I've stopped going for autographs. They're just not worth it.

It would be nice if show promoters limited the number of celebs, and paid all the fees for the celebs they did invite, and then let the autographs be free. Even if they had to raise ticket prices $5 a head, it would be worth it, and it would also make the whole ordeal seem much less skeevy.

good idea chris but then a lot of celebs wouldnt show bec they wouldnt make any money. a promoter friend of mine pays all the fees for the celebs including travel, food, and hotel just to get them to come.

                            Good point starsky^^^

re: Gorn & Chris...and anyone else who'd like to seeee Hamill's price come down...

...all suggestions on "how" and "why" things shouldn't be the way are... I can
underdstand the frustration and the attempts to "right" things w/alternate reasoning/solutions...

...however, the celebs (99 percent of the time) aren't going to put that
much thought into it... it's just "supply/demand" to them
and in this world, I don't expect anything less...

as far as the "suffering" fans, be they "little boys crying"
or "big men griping".... well, life ain't always how we'd want it...
reality intercedes... and, frankly, fans should be happy they are getting what
they want after all, because the celebs could just say:
"Hey, this isn't worth my time" and not make themselves
or their autographs availlable "at all".

Once I'm famous, my autographs will be for free.
                              I promise you!

But you're right in saying: if fans want to pay it, and are happy with their purchase, then it's quite OK. I'm just speaking for myself.
But I'm still happy to find celebs who just ask for a SASE and a photo of your own choice, and they send it right back, dedicated and all. Karen Allen, greatest of all the Indiana Jones ladies, you're the best!
