Back in the 70's I thought it was great (on first run)

I never seen it since then and had good memories of it.

Not long ago a buddy loned me the first disc.

To my surprise I didn't like it.

The jokes seemed kind of dry and outdated.

      Hmmmm....

I just got the disk a few weeks back (it was less than $10) and it's funny.... if you don't mind really silly sitcom style humour. The disk looks pretty good, and has the entire run. One weird thing: you can tell it took a while for them to get a hang on how they wanted the show to go. The first four episodes are very different from each other.

What he said, please, and mank you.

Amazon.com. A friend sent me a gift certificate and I got that, and Max Headroom. I think Quark was $7.50 or so.

              >and mank you.

              Oh, no manks required.

I might have not given the show enough time.

I think I only watched the first 2 episodes and gave up.

Well.... it IS really corny; and either you like that sort of thing or you don't. The first two are also radically different from each other. The pilot was done by Buck Henry and Mel Brooks; and accordingly had a LOT of hype attached to it. I'd only discovered that recently. It'd always seemed odd to me how much publicity the show got when it first came out. After the pilot it kinda got handed around, and it shows 'cos there's not a lot of continuity for the first 4 or so. After that it starts settling in.

Watching it NOW I can see that it had a lot of potential, but took too long to find it's stride. Accordingly, it's one of the few things I could see a decent remake/reboot/sequel being done.

I haven't thought of Quark in years.

I always had a fondness for the show. The jokes are corny, but to me that stuff is fun. I don't watch the Beverly Hillbillies for the drama
                      It's all good!

Richard Benjamin is an underrated actor--check out his performance in LOVE AT FIRST BITE. Very dry, very funny. He can keep an absolute straight face despite the absurdity swirling around him. He would have been right at home in the 60s BATMAN series with Adam West.

I remember the show well. I almost bought the DVD set a while back. I might yet pick it up.
