    super-awesome dvd sets

    So....

I snagged two DVD sets this week:

-Quark: I still find it funny, but I can see why it didn't catch on. It took them four episodes to get into the swing of things.... four out of eight. Each of the first four is very different from the others, so that probably messed with the viewers.

-Max Headroom: I find I like this show MORE than I did the last time I saw it, back in the 90's. I catch more of the jokes.... but it's kinda sad that almost EVERYTHING they warned about came to pass....

Those are were two shows kind of ahead of their time. I was surprised 30 years later that Quark doesn't seem as dated as most sci fi spoofs.

It was pretty funny to see the same Monster/Alien thingee that terrorized Wonder Woman and Logan 5. That mask got around!

Watching Max Headroom as a kid, you just knew it was gonna get cancelled, which made it kind of a treat.

I used to like and watch Max Headroom every week but for some reason today I can't name one single plot of any episode - weird I totally forgot everything about it except his name was Edison Carter (I think)

Yeah.... I don't normally go for remakes, but I'd be curious about a new Quark, 'cos you can see there was so much there not used.

You CAN; but under the names which they happened in real life:

-“Blipverts”: Them stupid multi-part ads during the end credits of tv shows
        -“Raking”: UFC
        -“Blanks”: illegal immigrants
-“Academy”: any court case for a famous person from the last 20 years
-“War”: any terrorist group or belligerent protest organization

        *sigh* Now I’m sad.
