    The Wild Wild West

Any other fans of the old 60's Wild Wild West TV show ?

A buddy loaned me a few episodes and i've been really enjoying it.

Whoever came up with the idea of combining a Western/Spy/Sci-Fi/Fantasy all into one was a genius.

I'm kind of surprised the network let the show be made -- Networks have a history of not liking to take chances on totally new ideas.

Haven't seen it for years, but I loved it as a kid. Was very disappointed with the modern film. Don't know how you screw that up - it had all the elements in place.

Love it! Always have and still do. I like the way they took commercial break.

The reason they screwed up the movie was miscasting. To much humor and bad directing. So basically every thing.

A great show that I still watch and enjoy. The Exclusive Premiere figure from 15 or so years back was great and not un-Mego like in many respects.

Quite a fan of the original series, esp. in early seasons. Hated the film!

I think Megos of WWW would be great!

I haven't seen the show since I was a kid. My guess is they sold the show as a cross between a western and spy show. They probably never addressed the SF elements but chalked them up to the "spy" angle as many gadgets were introduced thru it's run. I did see a bunch of classic episodes before the film was released. I think they had a marathon one weekend.

I first saw this show in the Uk when I was in college one summer I thought it was fantastic and was so hyped about the movie, evry one was like what the hell is WWW, and then it came out and boy was I gutted:(, thought that Exclusive premiere figure was nice, never managed to get one, the only western ones I got were the Lone Ranger and Tonto two pack.

I think retro figures Of wild Wild West would be great to see

To me, now that I look back on it, it seemed to be more like steampunk; it had all of the right elements for it.

Loved James West and Artemus Gordon. They were really great together. This was one of James Conrad's best series, as he was at the top of his game acting wise.

Dr. Loveless was one of the better villains of the entire spy genre, as he was an evil, ruthless megalomaniac, but he was also charming, snarky, funny and had his moments of vulnerability.

I remember one scene from the black and white early seasons when he crushed a glass tumbler in one of his hands, looked at James West and said, "I've lived with pain for so long, I no longer feel it." and the look on his face as he said it was that of someone who had known too much pain to keep his sanity, and so, gladly gave it up.

                        Great series.

Oh, and I'd love to see a Mego version of these.

Before the Will Smith movie, rumours were Mel Gibson was going to play Jim West.

I think Mel would have been a lot better.
