    Buck Rogers movie opening

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm42mUwqywA

I had forgotten about this completely until I stumbled over this youtube vid. I haven't seen this since I was a kid watching the movie in the theatre.

It say's it's been blocked in my country

Always loved the Buck movie opening ... It's very James Bondish

A little trivia ... The singer is the Lennon Sisters younger brother

This alternate opening with song lyrics sets up an uncomfortable question: were they going to reveal Buck dreamed of the 25th century rather than actually waking up in it?

Cool to see this again! I saw the BUCK ROGERS movie in the theater multiple times, absolutely loved it. As an adult, I still love it, though now I can at least appreciate the full-on cheesiness of Buck and Aradala's "disco" dance.

Definitely! James Bond on a budget. And apparently the "James Bond in space" high concept was something the producers of the show were going for. There were a couple of great articles in STARLOG where the people who worked on the show pretty much said as much. A great read:

I remember seeing that version at a drive-in in Canada before the TV version of the pilot aired. (Same thing with the BSG "feature" pilot.)

            Always loved BR25C.

Strangely, the only version of the pilot available on DVD at the moment is the "movie" version, and not the TV broadcast version which contains a couple of extra scenes (most notably at the end to set up the ensuing series.)

I remember seeing it in Pittsburgh in theatre; I always took it like life on mars also - buck is freezing to death when he dreams it up but who knows.

here is a copy someone put up not as clear as the one that got pulled but you get the point
