    James Cameron returns to Aliens

James Cameron Has Been Digitally Tinkering With Aliens s Done? Bleeding Cool Comic Book News and Rumors

I just did complete remaster of Aliens personally with the same colorist I worked with on Avatar. It’s spectacular. We went in and completely de-noised it, de-grained it, up-rezzed, color-corrected it, end-to-end, every frame, and it looks amazing. It looks better that it looked in the theaters originally. Because it was shot on a high-speed negative that was a new negative that didn’t pan out too well and got replaced the following year. So it’s pretty grainy. We got rid of all the grain. It’s sharper and clearer and more beautiful than it’s ever looked. And we did that to the long version, to the director’s cut, the extended play.

Aliens is such a great movie. I can certainly understand why Cameron wants to Lukas-up his movie, and as long as it is a remaster, and no extra junk is added, then this is definitely good news

      Should be cool.

But I am of the opinion, grain sometimes makes the movie scarier. Years ago my cousin gave me a bootleg of Tom Cruises War of the Worlds. It was filmed inside a movie theater and not very clear. The movie scared the pants off me. So I bought it on DVD when it came out. Not as scary when I could see everything clearly.

I guess in the case of Aliens, it will be just as awesome clear or not clear.

if he cleans up the negative only and remasters the color, sound and things like that then it should be great, But if pulls a Lucas 1997 and revampes with added footage and BS CGI .Im out!

I just recently picked up a copy (to keep, I've already seen it) of the "Director's Cut" of ALIEN. I love the way Scott goes politely out of his way to say the original was just fine as far as he was concerned, and his "Director's Cut" on the DVD is actually a minute shorter than the original film!

I've never seen Aliens. It's one of those things that I'm going to watch someday.

I love the film but if you've never seen it at this point after all the hype it will probably feel like a let down. Alien is much scarier as a horror film, ALiens is typical of a cameron action film. I think Hudson is Bill Paxton's finest role but then I liked him as Chet in weird science too (GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER)

Bill Paxton was GREAT as Chet! He is also the only person to go up against an Alien, a Predator, and a Terminator
