    Kurosawa's Star Wars

This is awesome on soooooo many levels:

SILLOF's WORKSHOP: featuring the custom figures and dioramas of sillof

If only. Although if Toshiro Mifune was Obi-Wan, I think the fight with Vader may have ended differently....

        Fantastic.
If they released these figures, I'd buy them immediately.

And true, Lucas borrowed heavily from Kurosawa.
He should produce them as a tribute....

Watch Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress" which Lucas has always admited was a major influense on the original Star Wars film. It's also a great movie in it's own right.

I should have gone to the site first. Those customs are amazing! Too bad a fire prevented the film from being completed.

                  I wonder....
If the Japanese were to actually make this film, would Lucas sue them, even though he based SW partially on Kurosawa's film to begin with?

It'd depend, I think, on whether it was a direct copy beat for beat...
or at least had some new twist on it as Lucas performed on STAR WARS.

I dunno. He didn't sue over "Message From Space."

I just discovered this site.....in a word.....wow! His imagination and knowledge of these time periods is entertaining and fun. Too bad he doesn't sell any of his work!
