How old is the term Starship ?

Everytime I hear the term Starship used when not referencing Star Trek I still think of Star Trek ... example, The Jefferson Starship

My question, did Trek invent the term ? ... or has it been around a long time before Trek ?

It was around before Trek I think one of the first documented uses was in "Skylark of Space" published in 1928 in the magazine "Amazing Stories".

Before Starship Built this City on Rock 'n Roll, they performed Miracles as Jefferson Starship, who just wanted Somebody to Love as Jefferson Airplane.
