The Billy Meier case is an interesting subject. What I know of it I read in a book many years ago, Light Years by Gary Kinder. I think it's now out of print. He has some of the best UFO photos ever taken; many of which are difficult to explain away as hoaxes. I think he only has 1 arm so it's difficult to see how he faked things. Also the setting of his photos are very unique. If they are fakes they have been meticulously planned out and executed by a one-armed man. I don't really think they are fakes. But he also makes some extraordinary claims about space travel and time travel. I think many of the photos being shown in this lecture are just NASA photos and paintings re-photographed by Mr. Meier.

I think many of this original negatives were swiped as people paraded in and out of his home over the years to see his collection for themselves. Any useful evidence has long ago been lost to thieves. An original negative under scrutiny of a laser scanner would clear up the stories once and for all.

Also Wendelle Stevens and the group he works for has kept evidence and Mr. Meier away from other UFO investigators. In retaliation many of the other groups have decided to just label Mr. Meier and his photos fake without access to them. That is a sorry state of affairs because it does no-one any good if evidence cannot be scrutinized and tested.

I did a quick google search and it didn't take long to find out the source of many of his photographs. He took blurry photos of sci fi paintings. There was also a ship that someone dubbed the "wedding cake" ship, which evidently has the same handle on the side of it as a garbage can lid that was photographed in Billys garage.

I love the effort however. This guy was a real carny. And quite frankly, his photos are cool but faked nonetheless.

Yes, I did see that the wedding cake ship was a fake. One group pointed out that a piece of it fell off and you can see it in the photo. And I could sort'a tell in the youtube video that the images of MARS with our satellites in orbit are just photos of NASA paintings, etc. I've seen the real NASA paintings in many books and specials on the science channel.

I don't think all his photos are necessarily fake tho. The material that really interests me are the photos & super 8 he took in the 1970's. The wedding cake ship is listed as post-1980 I think. The ships from the 70's are different looking. I think that this guy did photograph real ships at one time. Then the ships stopped coming. He wanted more attention so he created his own ships and kept the photos comin`.

The settings the older UFO's are photographed in would be extremely difficult to fake. A saucer by the tree with the sun peeking over the top of it. 2-3 ships flying in formation. The landscape below them is not flat, ( easier to mount models or a ladder), but rolling hills and valleys. In one of his super 8 films he zooms in on a craft and I've heard you can see lights blinking on the craft's roof. I have a VHS set from the 1990's of material of hsi released by the tv series Sightings. Some of it really makes you wonder.

As cool as those photos are, they all look like forced perspective to me. A model on a string the proper distance from the camera to make the model and background in focus at the same time. The shadows on the models don't have the same hazy quality as the background which means they were closer to the camera. Granted, I am not a photographer and can't explain how they were done specifically, but he faked so many photos and made up so many stories that it just stands to reason that he made up all of them.

            Awesome photos, but still fake.
